Now that it’s summer, the temperature is rising and so is the temperature of your car’s interior. If you are sick of being hit with a heat wave every time you open the car door, consider trying these tips to stay cool in your car.
the Steering Wheel
We’ve all been there — the car is parked
directly in the sun, and as a result, the steering wheel is unbearably hot to
the touch. You can prevent this from happening in the future by keeping a small
towel in your car and using it to cover the steering wheel when the car is
Sunshine is nice, but it has a lot to do with
heating up a parked car. If and when you can, park your vehicle in the shade.
Even if you have to walk a little more, the shady parking spot will be worth
it, as your car will be much cooler when you return.
in a Sunshade
If you can’t find shade to park in, a sunshade can serve as a decent substitute. Some sunshades are designed to not only shade from sun rays but to reflect them, offering optimum shading and cooling.
Although we do have frigid winters in Iowa, we at Motor Inn of Spirit Lake know just how unbearably hot it can get in the summer. We hope these tips help keep you and your vehicle cool this summer.
Spring is a time of new beginnings, and Ford has embraced the meaning of the season. The brand hosted an event in Amsterdam this past April, where it showcased the grand debut of several upcoming models. Among these premieres was the new Ford Puma, a sleek compact crossover with a stylish platform based on the Ford Fiesta. Ford is promising that the new Puma crossover will have the best cargo space of its class. The Puma is also expected to have a 48-volt mild hybrid powertrain under its hood.
Aside from that information, we don’t yet know many details about the Ford Puma. Its full reveal is expected to come in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show. According to reporters who attended the Go Further event in Amsterdam, the Puma looks close to complete, and the laser lighting that surrounded the crossover hints at the sleek, cool and modern styling that we can expect in the Puma.
Everything about the Ford Puma sounds pretty exciting, and we sure hope we have the option of selling it at Motor Inn of Spirit Lake. However, it’s still unsure whether or not the Puma will be coming to America. Rumors suggest that it’s quite possible, but only time will tell.
We at Motor Inn are definitely looking forward to the full reveal of the Ford Puma in September. With the comparison to the Ford Fiesta and the promise of having the best cargo space of its class, we believe the Puma would make a great addition to our dealership.
Believe it or not, summer is just around the corner, and with it comes some of the best weather of the year. It’s the perfect season for hitting the open road and falling in love all over again with the joy of driving. Now that the coldest months of the year are over, though, it’s important to do some routine summer car care to make sure your ride is in the best shape possible.
Changing temperatures can cause the air in your car’s tires
to expand and contract, which can lead to under-inflated tires. While you won’t
have to worry about snow and ice this summer, wet and slippery conditions are
always possible. Make a habit of monitoring your car’s tire pressure, tread,
Regularly checking and changing your vehicle’s motor oil is
one of the easiest and cheapest ways to keep everything running smoothly for
years to come. Don’t forget this step as summer approaches.
Inspect Coolant Mix
You should change your vehicle’s coolant at least once a
year. Right before summer is the perfect time to do so, as soaring temperatures
make overheating all the more likely.
