U.S. News & World Report recently announced its list of the 11 Best Diesel Pickup Trucks of 2021. With the 2021 Silverado 1500, 2021 Silverado HD, and 2021 Colorado making top spots on the list, Chevrolet is making a statement with its trailering capabilities and advanced technologies.
The 2021 Silverado 1500 features a new Multi-Flex Tailgate that includes six functions for loading and unloading cargo. With an available Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel engine, the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cranks out 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque and offers an increased maximum towing capacity of 9,500 pounds. New trailering technologies are also available on the Silverado 1500, such as Trailer Length Indicator and Jack-Knife Alert.
The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado HD shares new trailering technologies with the 2021 Silverado 1500 and has a best-in-class maximum tow rating of 36,000 pounds. The 2021 Silverado HD features a Duramax 6.6-liter Turbo-Diesel V8 engine that provides 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. The heavy-duty truck also has new special edition options, such as the Midnight Edition and Z71 Sport Edition.
U.S. News praised the 2021 Colorado’s Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System, which has a 7-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The 2021 Colorado has an available Duramax 2.8-liter Turbo-Diesel four-cylinder engine that provides 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque and tows up to 7,700 pounds.

The 2021 Silverado 1500 welcomes the addition of the most capable tailgate in the model’s history. The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 will also feature increased trailering capability thanks to two of its most efficient engines. No matter the configuration of the 2021 Silverado 1500, the 2.7-liter Turbo engine adds thousands of pounds of trailering capacity. With the Cab Short Box model, the rating increases by 2,500 pounds for a max capacity of 9,300 pounds. The newly available Regular Cab Long Box gets a maximum tow rating of 9,600 pounds. The 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine combines increased towing capacity with industry-leading fuel economy, adding 1,900 pounds of trailering capacity while achieving an EPA-estimated 33 mpg on the highway.*
