Silverado 1500 Tailgate Tech | Spirit Lake, IA

With new mechanical and technological updates, the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 offers an enhanced tailgate and trailering experience.

The 2021 Silverado 1500 welcomes the addition of the most capable tailgate in the model’s history. The Multi-Flex Tailgate offers six unique functions so that Silverado owners can access the bed cargo easier and enjoy enhanced loading solutions and a standing workstation. With a weight capacity of 375 pounds, the new tailgate will make work easier if you are tackling home DIY projects or outdoor activities around Iowa.

The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 will also feature increased trailering capability thanks to two of its most efficient engines. No matter the configuration of the 2021 Silverado 1500, the 2.7-liter Turbo engine adds thousands of pounds of trailering capacity. With the Cab Short Box model, the rating increases by 2,500 pounds for a max capacity of 9,300 pounds. The newly available Regular Cab Long Box gets a maximum tow rating of 9,600 pounds. The 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine combines increased towing capacity with industry-leading fuel economy, adding 1,900 pounds of trailering capacity while achieving an EPA-estimated 33 mpg on the highway.*

With enhanced trailering technology, such as Trailer Length Indicator, Jack-Knife Alert, Rear Side View enhancement and Cargo Bed View enhancement, the latest generation Silverado makes trailering even simpler and more user-friendly.
