2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid | Motor Inn of Spirit Lake | Spirit Lake, IA

The latest addition to the Corolla lineup is the Corolla Cross Hybrid, a compact SUV that uses the fifth generation Toyota Hybrid System to deliver exceptional performance and efficiency.

Toyota has been steadily expanding its Corolla range for the past few years, starting with the Corolla Hatchback, then the Corolla Cross, and now the upcoming GR Corolla and Corolla Cross Hybrid. The all-new model will be assembled at the company’s brand-new manufacturing plant in Huntsville, Alabama, and will be offered at five trim levels: LE, XLE, S, SE, and XSE.

Positioned between the Toyota C-HR and the bestselling RAV4, the Corolla Cross Hybrid will use an exclusive electronic all-wheel-drive system and produce 194 horsepower. Toyota anticipates it will get 37 miles per gallon combined, pending testing by the EPA. That’s 25 more ponies and seven more mpg than the gas-only version. And with a 0-60 mph time of just 8 seconds, it will be faster too.

The new Toyota SUV will feature the brand’s latest multimedia system, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, USB-C charge ports, available Wi-Fi, and Toyota Safety Sense™ 3.0. Development of New Toyota Human-Assist Robots

Toyota Develops New Human-Assist Robots | Carroll IA

The Toyota Research Institute (TRI) has been working tirelessly on the development of new human-assist robots. These robots will be designed to help humans with basic daily tasks such as cleaning, folding laundry, and putting away groceries. The advancements Toyota plans on making with these new robots could revolutionize convenience and independence in humanity.

The TRI has been developing a robot specifically built for loading a dishwasher. Using stereo-cameras placed around the sink, the robot can develop a deep algorithm which enables it to identify the objects in the sink and if they must be loaded into the dishwasher.

The possibilities offered by the existence of human-assist robots are endless. Advancements like this can make things much easier on the elderly or the disabled, who can enjoy greater independence in their daily routines.

Toyota is taking painstaking measures to certify that its robots are as accurate and safe as possible. With enough progress and development, the TRI is hoping this technology can soon be applied in the field of self-driving cars.
